Donna Williford, MS, CEOLD
Certified Grief Recovery Method® Specialist
Offering Individual and Group Programs • In-Person and Online
From my earliest memories, death has been a frequent visitor and grief, a constant companion. My journey began in early childhood when my beloved grandfather — my greatest source of safety and love — died suddenly in our home. Not long after, that same home became a place of trauma and confusion. My earliest understanding of life was intertwined with loss, longing, and a deep need to understand what it means to say goodbye.
I discovered the Grief Recovery Method® after the death of my father. For decades, I believed — as so many of us are taught — that grief never truly ends, that it’s something we simply learn to live with. This method showed me another way. It helped me move through unfinished emotions and long-held childhood pain that had quietly shaped my life, allowing me to find peace and a sense of completion I had never known before.
Today, I combine that personal journey with nearly thirty years of professional experience serving the dying and their families. I hold a Master of Science in Thanatology and am a Certified End-of-Life Doula, bringing both academic understanding, compassionate presence, and holistic perspective to my work.
As a Certified Grief Recovery Method® Specialist, I offer individual and group programs. I also teach" Helping Children With Loss" classes for parents, grandparents, and educators — offering specialized support to meet the needs of all ages and types of loss.
I understand the silent weight of sorrow, the questions that have no easy answers, and the courage it takes to take even the smallest step forward. Through my work, I walk alongside others as they navigate their own stories of loss — whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the loss of something that once gave life meaning.
My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can release pain, rediscover joy, and complete what was left emotionally unfinished. Grief does not have to be a life sentence. There is hope. There is healing. And it begins with one courageous step forward.
I look forward to walking that path with you.
