Of course — here is the cleaner version with the David Kessler/Grief Educator and Child Development Specialist references removed.

Annette Mendez is a bilingual Grief Recovery Method Specialist serving Morris County, New Jersey, and surrounding communities, with services available both in person and virtually.

Annette came to the Grief Recovery Method with both professional experience and a deeply personal understanding that grief is not something people simply “get over.” She understands that grief can live quietly beneath the surface, showing up in relationships, identity, parenting, work, faith, culture, and the everyday moments when life no longer feels the same.

Her journey to GRM was rooted in a desire to offer people more than comfort alone. She wanted to provide a compassionate, structured, and action-based process that helps grievers be honest about what hurts while taking meaningful steps toward healing.

Through the Grief Recovery Method, Annette found language, tools, and a framework that honor the real emotional impact of loss. As a Latina, she also understands how often feelings can be pushed aside in the name of strength, responsibility, faith, or family. In many families and communities, people are taught to keep going, show up for everyone else, and carry what hurts quietly while their own well-being takes a back seat.

GRM strengthened Annette’s belief that people deserve spaces where their grief is not rushed, minimized, spiritualized, or compared. Instead, they deserve to be met with care, dignity, and practical support — a place where they do not have to perform strength in order to be worthy of support.

In her community, Annette offers individual Grief Recovery Method support as well as closed peer support Grief Recovery Method groups. Groups are offered virtually and in person and typically run for 6–8 weeks, depending on the meeting schedule. Her services support adults navigating death, divorce, relationship loss, life transitions, and other grief experiences that may be impacting their ability to move forward.

Annette brings warmth, cultural humility, and a strong background in family support, training, and community-based education to her work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Life Studies from Montclair State University and a Masters certification in Developmental Models for Autism Intervention from Montclair State University.

Annette’s approach is heartfelt, honest, and culturally responsive. She believes grief work is not about fixing people, but about helping them feel less alone, less misunderstood, and more supported as they begin to carry their loss differently.
