Testimonials For Helping Children With Loss
The GRM will be something I recommend to friends and colleagues for years to come. The framework is valuable in dealing with any loss, but also applies to ongoing relationships that may suffer from incomplete communication.

Kari has shown me how to turn my deep grieving into a healthy form of missing my husband. I will be forever grateful to her for helping me to not live in a snapshot of time where I felt that I could not laugh or be happy again. With her help, I now miss my husband, but I am not walking around exhausted from actively deep grieving him. I am able to start to live again. Kari is an amazing Grief Guru, and she rocks the GRM.

Through the GRM I discovered an early loss, that I was never able to grieve, that has affected many areas of my life and finally I was able to close that chapter and move willingly into the future.

I have learned so much. Krystal has taught me to be more in tune with my emotions instead of dismissing or suppressing them. I am now more intentional about sitting with my feelings and trying to identify the root and work through them. I learned about the nature of loss, the major misconceptions I had around grief and it provided me with many tools.

The program has worked very well for me. I had a pain inside of me, where nobody could help, not even a therapist. Detola Amure was a real help, very empatic and friendly. I loved working with her. I only can recommend her.

I believe mapping a relationship, from beginning to end, gives the grieving person an opportunity to voice the emotions at each "age", giving each "part" an opportunity to be heard, held and healed.

Although I entered the program with the intent on receiving guidance for a recent loss of a parent, I found that so much of my pain was also guided by my relationships with other family members. Working with the tools that I have acquired from this program has allowed me to have better insight into the triggers of my grief and how to handle them. I feel that this is only a beginning for me, but a practice I intend to continue to explore.

Taught me, initially, to have empathy and compassion for myself, accepting my emotions without shame. Then gave me so much clarity for the reasons for my strong emotions. It was hard work to keep up with the assignments, but so rewarding when I did put in that effort. I realized things that I needed to resolve that I had no awareness of before I took the program.

The program met the learning objectives. I was introduced to grief counseling skills and learned some things that I had not considered before with how to better help a grieving child, In addition, I learned and experienced by writing a Completion letter that the recovery process can work for me as well.

Whatever your loss, it’s personal to you, so don’t feel ashamed about how you feel, or believe that it’s somehow only appropriate to grieve for certain things. If the person, animal, relationship, or situation was significant to you, it’s normal to grieve the loss you’re experiencing. Whatever the cause of your grief, though, there are healthy ways to cope with the pain that, in time, can ease your sadness and help you come to terms with your loss, find new meaning, and eventually move on with your life through communication with self and others. THANK YOU.

This program was amazing it assisted me in many losses that I didn’t even know I was grieving. The program has helped me to better provide support to my students with their own losses. I wish this could be apart of the curriculum across our state .
