This program really helped me understand how to help with typical students, but I'm still not completely confident on how I will apply these methods to my students who are non-verbal.

In the education program, we don’t really get to talk about these things so learning about these types of ways to assist students when they have a loss is important and beneficial to our careers.

It helped me build up empathy. I learned a lot about being a heart with ears and knowing now what NOT to say. I feel more knowledgeable about grief & loss and feel as if I can use the knowledge I gained in my everyday life and as a future educator.

The program was really eye-opening. I feel as if I learned tips to help people of all ages and even help myself be able to deal more with loss, rather than pushing it away. I really enjoyed the Completion Letter concept, that is something a person can use with any person (alive or someone who has past), and also with negative and positive affects on you.

I have been able to learn a lot of skills that I can use in my day-to-day life when helping work with others who have dealt with loss and need a hand.

This program worked really well for me. The loss graph really summarized my life well~ high highs and low lows. It really brought to awareness that I desire more of the middle way and that it is within my power to create it. Carleen Ross created a safe space for me to voice and process this. She also assisted me with processing the emotions that came with completing a grief for someone who is still very much alive.

This program has made me to evaluate the way I handled grief in the past and help me make significant changes in how I view my mental anguish during loss and traumatic situations. I have a child who has autism and he is the reason I took the class. After what I learned from this book, even though he is non-verbal, I have adapted the lessons into pictures and unwritten expressions, that he may understand what feelings he is expressing and why. Rex Cearley made himself accessible throughout the whole program and has encouraged us to take the Grief Recovery Method on top of the Helping Children with Loss. This will be a long haul for my family, but I now feel a weight off my shoulders, because of the way the class was presented and the information it contained. Looking forward to the Grief Recovery Method!

Helping Children with Loss was an eye opening course for me. It not only gave me insight on how to help my son but on my own grief issues. I plan to go through The Greif Recovery Method at a later date and i am already suggesting the courses and books to other people.

I have a special needs son that is 5. He has autism and nonverbal. During the class we lost my sister and brother-in-law.to covid. He was very attached to them. He saw them several times a week. I was overwhelmed with grief, but I needed help for him. How it turned out was by helping him I was also helped myself. Bing able to talk to the teacher for advice outside of class was so huge!!!

I did not come grieving, instead, my employer required the training. I was plesantly surprised that so much of the book and trainings gave me so much insight into parenting. Also, I was able to write a letter to my grandma, and that has helped heal me. I truly loved the program!
