I’m Jon, a Certified Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist® and ICF-certified Professional Life Coach. I am a retired US Navy Submarine Officer, dedicated to helping people find hope and healing through the Grief Recovery Method (GRM) and live a life of hope through ICF-style coaching. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, I turned to GRM after the loss of my father and nephew, finding clarity and peace in my own grief.
With 20+ years of Navy service, I’ve witnessed how grief from loss, career shifts, or frequent moves can linger, impacting lives and families. The GRM breaks this cycle, offering a proven path to emotional completion. I offer personalized 1-on-1 online GRM sessions and the Helping Children With Loss program, creating a compassionate space for healing.
Client Testimonial: “Jon is calm, clear, patient, welcoming and compassionate with my grief. He creates a space where I felt the strength to cry and face the truth of my loss. His openness and examples from his own life make the group feel safe. He was responsive and helpful when I got stuck or confused. Finally expressing myself and coming to completion I feel lighter and ready to enter a new chapter of my life. I recommend Jon as a Grief Recovery Specialist with my whole, big, broken, healing heart. Thank you” – David S.
Coaching client testimonial:
"Jon was an absolute pleasure to work with. We connected at exactly the right time in my life, when I was struggling across multiple areas including work, relationships, and overall health. From the start, Jon provided thoughtful guidance along with genuine patience, compassion, and understanding. I felt completely comfortable sharing openly with him, which allowed us to get to the root of the challenges I was facing and begin working through them step by step.
"Within just the first few sessions, I felt more confident, optimistic, and clear-minded, and those changes had a measurable impact on both my personal and professional life. I highly recommend Jon to anyone going through a similar period of transition who could benefit from a grounded, compassionate, and dedicated coach."
