It’s been 7 months since my husband died and I’m still grieving, but now I’m able to handle the pain. I haven’t had any more devastating periods since I completed the program.

My experience with GRM was great! I ended the course feeling empowered with the tools and knowledge to continue my journey of recovery. In order to be successful with the program, you have to be willing to be vulnerable and completely honest. I've learned so many great tools that are now helping me walk my kids through their grief after losing their dad. GRM has helped me reframe grief and how it should be handled.

I feel lighter after burning my final letter. There is less of a fearful or anxious underlying emotional state for me. I didn't even realize it was there until it was gone.

I have been in counseling relationships (usually as the one being counseled) for much of my life. Relative to others with whom I have experience, I thought Cheryl was outstanding. She was professional yet empathetic, insightful without being overbearing, and good at guiding the pace of our interactions. I can't fully express my appreciation and gratitude. The program has given me a method for experiencing/processing my grief which helps me to approach questions and issues which are otherwise overwhelming in both size and complexity. It also has provided me with an opportunity to speak about my experience without being judged or feeling that I was imposing. I began to "feel better" as soon as we began digging into the particular relationship that I was studying, and I hope that continues. As I told a colleague, I may not yet be on the "path to recovery," but for the first time the path is visible.

The Grief Recovery Method has helped me more than once. This time it saved my life. Susan Dindinger helped me to go places in my heart and mind to understand my grief and feelings. The hurt, pain and fear are deeper than I thought. Suan Dindinger use of The Grief Recovery Method helped me to come to terms with my Grief. I believe the program will change anyone's life.

Identifying sterbs was so helpful. The facilitator constantly offered examples in their own life to help widen my understanding of how sterbs serve to numb emotional connection and processing of loss. The facilitator's vulnerability and modelling of the process, taking us on their journey through a loss, was not only practical but just incredibly connecting. The method of constantly affirming the guidelines (confidentiality, no judgement, be truthful, be honest, be a heart with ears) created a place of safety and freedom. The facilitator had command of the 'room' without being authoritative. You felt encouraged and believed in and trusted. They checked in on our progress and homework without it feeling heavy and without judgement.

I recently completed the program. Participating in the final exercises was difficult and emotional but it felt very cathartic afterwards. I feel like it was worth it. I look forward to seeing how I feel farther out. I feel blessed to be able to join via Zoom, meet new people and reconnect with a long ago friend who also was the facilitator. Tired but grateful. Thank you.
