The fact that Dr. Powell has also suffered the loss of a parent made it so much easier to identify with him - he has more than a theoretical knowledge of loss

I worked with Marilynn Manzutto and I would highly recommend her to anyone. She was kind, understanding and non judgmental. I found her explanations easy to understand. Marilynn is dedicated to the process and it is obvious that she is committed to helping people understand the program. I especially enjoyed her utilizing examples that were relevant to my situation. She has a way of explaining complicated things and braking them down into simple digestible bites. I find Marilynn to be personable and trustworthy. Thank you Marilynn for taking me on this journey of healing and showing me the way. I am forever grateful to you and your commitment to excellence.

It may not have always made sense. Elizabeth was so kind with how she responded and always came back with answers to the questions that she may not have known.

I enjoyed having the steps modeled first before I was expected to complete them. It was helpful to see the facilitator show the emotions of loss. It was comforting to feel the pain and be able to talk about feelings.

Both facilitators were compassionate and vulnerable with us, while also maintaining a professionalism that allowed for us to use them as sounding boards too. I felt safe. I felt heard. They helped a vulnerable group, in vulnerable circumstances, to come together and feel safe and heard.

I walked away from this with so many tools…tools to deal with my pain and grief as well as tools to deal With all that in other people’s lives that are dear to me. I am blessed to have done this program. It was not easy, but I am so thankful that I stuck it out and finished it completely. Michelle was amazing to work with. I felt so comfortable working with her!

Our facilitator was so important to the success of our group. With gentle reminders when needed, she helped us to share openly and keep to the guidelines as we worked through each step over the weeks. Her willingness to share her journey with us through the process helped me to fully engage and trust the process. It is difficult work at a difficult time in history, which makes it all the more critical. Kim’s encouragement and the accountability of the group helped me to see it through.

English is not my first language, so I had some language difficulties, but I am grateful that Facilitator tried to listen and did her best to help me complete the program, and that I was able to learn what to do in the future for grief metter.

Karen did an excellent job facilitating the program. She was clear with the instructions, empathetic and vulnerable. It was good to have a facilitator to keep me accountable to do the homework. I don’t think I could have finished the program without someone to keep me accountable. The facilitator shared her losses first and that helped me to gain courage to deal with my grief.
