Her vulnerability is what stood out to me. Obviously someone is certified, has been through trainings, has experience leading groups, but her vulnerability in sharing her journeys through grief and the Grief Recovery Method was unexpected. It made me think "she gets it, she's been there". It also helped with explaining the homework assignments and reassured me to "trust the process".

I really appreciated having Brian Magee navigate us through the work included in the book, there were quite a few key pieces of guidance he is trained in that he was able to explain to us so the work we were doing was more effective. i.e. listening (heart with ears); reading aloud apologies, forgives, and significant emotional statements in the third person rather than as if I was speaking directly to the person I lost.
