Rex was very clear about how he ran the group and was very inviting in his willingness to address my concerns, even when I felt he either didn't agree or may have been somewhat put off by my comments -- none of which were directed at him.

Because she was unfortunate to have a similar experience she knew all to well just what it would for us to successfully in complete this course. Her empathy, compassion and foresight help guide us through this process.

I was able to review several issues in my life, and then focus on one relationship. It helped me express my anger, and regrets and to forgive and apologies which felt like a big relief.

My facilitator treated us all with kindness, compassion and respect, ensuring everything was understood by all of the participants and making sure he 'held' the emotions of the group. The book was well explained and the homework was challenging in places but definitely worthwhile. He offered one-on-one support outside the group for any of the candidates that were struggling. Excellent work, Phil!

Jess provided a safe space so I could dig deep into all the emotions - not just the grief. Her very clear demonstrations and instructions were very helpful. When I got lost she would guide me back on track with great care and tenderness. I especially appreciated her soothing voice and her overall way of guiding all of us in a way that would not overwhelm the nervous system. It was a real gift to have Jess as a facilitator!

Taking part in this grief recovery course has been truly invaluable. It has nourished my soul and soothed my heart in ways I didn’t think possible. The process offered gentle guidance through difficult emotions, creating space for healing and hope. The group leader inspired complete confidence — their kindness, understanding, and genuine support made all the difference. They created a safe, compassionate space where every person felt seen, heard, and valued. I am deeply grateful for this experience.

Both of the Facilitators were understanding, fair and knowledgeable about grief. They shared their own unique stories and gave insight into their own processes of taking the course and the outcome. They knew what they were talking about and showed it each week.

My program facilitator was warm, empathetic, accommodating, and kind. I appreciate the safe space she provided. It's difficult to run a virtual support group - there are always some kinks to work out at first (with technology, emails, conversation flow, etc.) and I have no doubt this facilitator will master the virtual support group space to create an experience that's "outstanding."

I am better equipped to deal with grief. I believe I have new skills to cope with the grief that I’ve endured and may incur in the future. Becoming more knowledgeable about what grief is has been the greatest discovery I’ve found in the last 8 weeks. We were all blessed to have such a wise and compassionate instructor. She was so patient with me that it made me feel more secure in being vulnerable. Truly glad that I was able to open up to Ms. Shorter because at first I had some reluctance about speaking in the group. She helped me by allowing me to share or not share when things got difficult for me. I wish I had something like this in my earlier years of life but I do now. Thank you , Ms. Shorter for reaching back with your light to pull others out of their darkness. God bless you.
